The elevation of work of human resources professionals from transactional to transformational can be attributed to technology use in organisations like enterprise planning tool (ERP). The study has tried to explore the social and technology factors that interact with each other through a technology platform like ERP-SAP using 'sociomateriality' as a guiding framework or theory (Orlikowski and Scott, 2008). The 'socio-material bricolage' as a useful analytical frame-work was examined using mixed research methodology. The study has adopted 'mixed' research design in which the phase one (qualitative design) of the study identifies the social and technology factors that associate with each other when ERP-SAP is deployed as a technology platform in human resources department in organisations. The phase two (quantitative design) tries to understand the impact of social factors on technology like ERP-SAP. The findings of the research reveal that social factors play a dominant role in technology use and design in organisations.
