Abstract

The agentic metaverse (a convergence of immersive metaverse platforms and multiagent systems) has the potential to transform how organizations approach workforce training and development by enabling scalable, dynamically generated and adaptive learning experiences. This article presents findings from an exploratory qualitative study of an AI-driven metaverse prototype designed for cybersecurity training, which was evaluated by 53 cybersecurity professionals. Drawing on their feedback, we identify challenges and provide six recommendations to guide the operationalization of the agentic metaverse, with particular emphasis on implementation and governance considerations.
