Khalid Talahma
What the paper says
This study focuses crucially on the rules and applications of corporate governance in the context of examining the effect of such rules on the stock value of firms and the competitiveness of such stocks within a share market. In addition, it surveys the need to develop a comprehensive policy framework based on regular disclosure, transparency, and the protection of shareholders' rights in a manner directed at enhancing the performance of the securities market in developing economies such as that of Palestine. The study concludes by highlighting the need to concentrate on the specific companies listed in the Palestine Stock Exchange (PSE) as a starting point to eventually introducing a set of rules and policies broadly that might be applicable to all sectors of the emerging Palestinian corporate sector.
