What the paper says

The purpose of this article is to examine the impact of organizational performance (PF) on open innovation practices (OIP) economic (SSE), social (SSS), and environmental (SSEN) sustainability. This study emphasized understanding the mediational effect of OIP among PF and SSE, SSS SSEN in manufacturing firms of Indian start-ups. This study analysed the above relationship from the data collected from 380 key officials’ Indian start-ups registered under DPIIT. The detailed analysis, including reliability, validity and testing hypothesis, was done in advanced SmartPLS-SEM 4 software. The findings show that PF directly influences OIP; thus, a company’s OIP significantly impacts the overall sustainability (SSE, SSS and SSEN). The PF has a significant effect on overall sustainability. In line with this, the study findings demonstrate a significant, high mediation effect of OIPs between PF and SSE, SSS and SSEN. The OIP on PF is much focused earlier, PF on OIP has been sparsely studied previously, and neither have they conceptualized in understanding its impact on SSE, SSS or SSEN. In such tumultuous times where knowledge is a key resource, key manufacturing executives of start-ups should stress the importance of sustainability from a collaborative perspective. This study is based on knowledge and sustainability theory, thus delivering novelty and originality in the field of the start-up of the manufacturing sector.
