This research investigated the impact of an enhanced version of the Hansen and Hurwitz [1] (HH) model on estimating the population mean of a quantitative sensitive variable in two-phase longitudinal surveys. The study explored the development of general minimum variance unbiased estimators for the population mean using non-sensitive auxiliary variables and analysed their statistical properties. Special attention was given to assessing levels of confidentiality protection. Simulation studies were conducted to demonstrate the performance of the proposed estimator, by comparing it to the estimators based on (i) total response and (ii) the original HH model. Analytical as well as numerical comparisons were employed to assess efficiency and privacy protection. The findings underscored the efficacy of the proposed estimation design in practical applications.
