What the paper says
Many challenges face the users of process model repositories to retrieve business process (BP) models that suit their business needs, and supporting these users is a real challenge. To overcome this lack, we propose a BP model recommendation system for users of such repositories based on their business profiles. Following a design science methodology, this paper presents a model driven engineering (MDE) approach and recommendation process for BP model based on LinkedIn user social profile and implemented as a transformation process in MDE. The proposed approach is based on model driven architecture (MDA) where techniques of models, metamodels, and transformation are used to implement a generic recommendation process which takes as input a LinkedIn user business profile and proposes in output a set of potential BP models. A framework, an architecture, a methodology-based MDE, are proposed to improve BP models reuse. A proof of concept prototype named SBPR is developed in this paper.
