Mapping Digital Transformation and Innovation Management: Bibliometric Insights

This bibliometric study examines the intersection of digital transformation (DT) and innovation management (IM) from 2014 to 2024, aiming to track research growth, identify leading contributors, and highlight emerging themes. A total of 1,576 publications were retrieved from Scopus using a targeted query, with no restrictions on language or document type. Bibliometric performance analysis and science mapping were conducted with Biblioshiny (R) and VOSviewer to examine sources, co-authorship, co-citation, and keyword clusters. The results indicate exponential growth after 2018, with Europe and China emerging as leading producers. Influential outlets include Sustainability, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and the European Journal of Innovation Management. Intellectual anchors center on dynamic capabilities, open innovation, and digital platforms, while emerging clusters highlight artificial intelligence, sustainability, and enterprise resource management (ERM). Collaboration remains uneven, with Africa absent and China largely dominated by single-country outputs. This study provides the first Scopus-based bibliometric analysis covering a decade of research on DT–IM, offering integrative insights for theory, practice, and policy.
