This study investigated the impact of outliers on biological data, including their detection and manipulation, using COVID-19 mortality data worldwide from January 2023 to April 2024. Outliers were identified and manipulated using both deletion and abbreviated mean methods. The study revealed that outliers negatively affected the results, leading to misleading findings. Manipulating outliers using abbreviated mean yielded better results than deletion. Therefore, it is advisable to exclude outliers from biological data due to their sensitivity. This is important because the presence of outliers in biological data directly impacts the accuracy of statistical analysis and the reliability of results in medical and biological studies.
