Abstract
Aims and Scope: Because economics is specialized, communication amongst economists and between economists and other disciplines is challenging, yet increasingly essential. The Journal of Economic Surveys seeks to improve the communication of new ideas and to inform economists of recent developments beyond their immediate specialization. We encourage the submission of the highest quality meta-analyses on specific empirical questions, phenomena, and interventions as well as broader meta-research summarizing what we know about economics research. We welcome papers that survey economic researchers and related scholars on topics relevant to our aims and scope. We also welcome scientometric studies of specific economics research fields.Surveys and scientometrics should be broad, methodologically rigorous with relevance to policy, outstanding research questions or in generating new questions. We welcome papers from all areas of economics, from traditional economic fields to emerging areas and applications of economic modelling and reasoning. We are also open to specific highly related areas in finance and psychology. We welcome proposals for special thematic issues. However, such issues should not include individual papers with significant overlap in coverage.
