Abstract

This study is concerned with implementing climate change funding in Jambi Province, with particular attention paid to the regulations and governance of the BioCarbon Fund Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscape (BioCFISFL). This study examines the management of climate change finance in Jambi Province, focusing on the regulations and governance related to the BioCarbon Fund Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscape (BioCF ISFL). To ascertain the sources of climate change funding in Jambi, the study employs a descriptive analysis, document research, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs). These include state and regional budgets, private sources, and international funds from bilateral and multilateral institutions. Regional Climate Budget Tagging (RCBT) is a methodology designed for the evaluation of regional budgetary commitments pertaining to climate action. To enhance budgetary planning for future climate action, Jambi’s government initiated the Regional Climate Budget Tagging (RCBT) process. To enhance the efficacy of climate change programs, it is imperative to prioritize transparency, accountability, and the issuance of pertinent policies, such as regional regulations, to facilitate public understanding. It is of the utmost importance to establish a local technical unit for the management of cross-sectoral programs and to incorporate community involvement, particularly from GESI groups, in the planning and executing programs like BioCF ISFL. Key stakeholders, including government departments, community groups, andthe media, provide invaluable input and oversight for these initiatives in Jambi Province.
