School bullying is a complex issue in China, and it is imperative to explore factors at the social–ecological system levels that influence bullying victimization. A school‐based mental health census was conducted in Nanling County, Anhui Province, among Chinese students in Grades 5 to 12 (aged 10–18 years) from 68 schools in 2022 ( n = 26,014). This study employed descriptive statistics, chi‐square tests, and one‐way ANOVA to compare school bullying victimization across variables regarding individual, family, school, and community factors. The associations between potential influencing factors and school bullying victimization were examined by using logistic regression models. Bullying victimization was significantly associated with individual‐level factors, such as subjective academic performance, anxiety and depression, suicidal ideation, and self‐harm behaviors, family‐level factors including family economic conditions and parent–child intimacy, family‐level factors including attending urban or private schools, and community‐level factors including perceived community unsafety on the daytime and nighttime. Most of these risk factors remained significant within specific types of bullying, including verbal bullying, physical bullying, and relational bullying. Bullying victimization in schools was associated with factors from individual, family, school, and community levels. This study highlights the importance of promoting family–school–community contact to prevent school bullying.
