What the paper says We examine the nexus between climate risk and the foreign exchange market in emerging Asian economies. The findings demonstrate that climate risk has a positive and considerable influence on exchange rate dynamics, albeit, the impact is transient. In other words, rising climate risk will strengthen the domestic currencies. To this end, policymakers should prioritize climate risk-mitigating measures to create more opportunities for exchange rate stability.
