Purpose This study aims to investigate the multivariate relationship between employee well-being and performance using canonical correlation analysis to identify the variables’ specific contributions. Design/methodology/approach A total of 118 survey questionnaires were administered to construction workers in Ghana, and canonical correlation analysis was conducted to ascertain the relationship between well-being and employee performance. Findings This study identified varying levels of influence of well-being indicators on employee performance among the participants. Practical implications The findings suggest that top managers in the construction industry should implement policies to improve the well-being indicators identified to enhance employee performance. Originality/value This study examines the relationship between employee well-being and performance using canonical correlation analysis, revealing the degree to which predictor variables influence performance among construction workers.
