What the paper says

The paper attempts to identify supply chain issues in the midstream sector of the oil and gas industry due to aging infrastructure. We identify four key issues – safety, regulatory compliance, cost, and supply chain optimization. We used extant literature to assess the potential impact of the aging infrastructure on the aforesaid four issues. We investigate the possible solutions based on emerging artificial intelligence technologies and suggest applications of the same. Suggested solutions are based on our investigation into the oil and gas and technology industries, making our research interdisciplinary.
