One in 20 Europeans has been diagnosed with cancer, with many experiencing psychological problems like anxiety and depression, underscoring the critical role of mental health in comprehensive cancer care.This roundtable discussion will bring together key stakeholders from three new EU projects aiming to address this challenge, including through collaboration.ALTHEA will develop a web-based platform to screen mental health issues in cancer patients, their families and caregivers, offering support tools and resources for patients and healthcare professionals.DESIPOC aims to improve psychosocial oncology care in Europe by creating a digital knowledge hub, a training system integrating AI-driven interventions, and piloting policy recommendations in five countries.MELODIC aims to improve mental health screening, early detection and personalised care for young adults with cancer through nature-based activities and online training for healthcare professionals.Participants include project coordinators from the three projects, a representative from the European Cancer Organisation-a longstanding advocate for cancer policy at European level and three projects' partner -and the Director of Cyprus Mental Health Services, highlighting the unique opportunities for European engagement and the broader implications for Member States.The session will be chaired by a representative of the European Health and Digital Executive Agency, offering valuable insights into the role of European funding mechanisms such as EU4H in driving impactful innovative projects leading to mental health policy reforms, and exchanging best practices across a wide range of stakeholders.This roundtable aims to: 1)Present the objectives and anticipated outcomes of the projects;2)Emphasise the role of European funding in achieving EU4Health objectives and foster synergies between projects;3)Discuss the challenges and opportunities in integrating mental health into cancer care at European and national levels.This discussion will be a platform for knowledge sharing and promoting a common vision for improving cancer and mental health care in Europe.
